SenseGlove Nova
The SenseGlove Nova is the most advanced haptic glove of its kind. The SenseGlove Nova has been designed with usability and applicability in mind. The haptic glove has been specifically developed for easy use with VR applications, such as VR training. The SenseGlove Nova utilises a combination of force and vibrotactile feedback and can be used completely wirelessly. The SenseGlove Nova glove mimics the feeling of size and grip in the virtual world. In the glove, each finger contains a haptic 'brake'. This brake delivers a force up to 20 newtons, which corresponds to the weight of a stone of approximately 2 kg. This brake stops the fingers when you pick up something in the virtual world, giving the user of the glove the feeling of actually touching something. The haptic force differs with each touch, so not every movement feels the same. This makes it possible to touch and pick up different objects in the virtual environment, each object giving a different feeling.
The SenseGlove Nova offers an advanced combination of inside-out tracking and an algorithm for very precise tracking. The glove is equipped with four sensors that detect the flexion and extension of the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and ring finger, and an extra sensor that captures the movements of the thumb. These sensors measure the movements of the fingers and the thumb by accurately recording the extension of the cables on the Nova Glove.
