Pimax Crystal shipping update

Good news! The first Pimax Crystal headsets have now been delivered to customers who have placed a pre-order with Unbound XR. However, there are also a number of questions about the use of the Headset and parts that are not included in the box. On this page we would therefore like to provide some clarification about the most frequently asked questions about Pimax Crystal pre-orders.

1. Improvement to the packaging

Packaging improvement: There were reports that the headband was damaged during shipping. There was too much pressure in the packaging causing it to press on the headband and break the plastic. This problem has been investigated and solved by adding an extra foam layer in the packaging. And if a customer has received a defective Headset, it will be exchanged for a new one immediately free of charge.

2. Additional glass lenses

With the pre-orders of the Pimax Crystal you will receive an extra set of glass lenses. These are not supplied directly with de Headset. Because the production process of the glasses is difficult, there is some delay in the delivery of these. All customers who have received their Pimax Crystal now will receive the extra set of with glass lenses in a few weeks. With the new order of the Pimax Crystal, the glass lenses will be included in the package as standard.

3. Fiber optic cable

The Pimax Crystal comes standard with with a copper DisplayPort cable, however, because it was not fully in stock, Pimax has decided to deliver some pre-orders of with the (more expensive) Pimax Optical fiber cable. Since it is not entirely fair that some customers have now received the standard cable, and other customers the more expensive optical fiber cable, Pimax has decided to provide all pre-order customers with an optical fiber cable. These cables are supplied by Pimax itself, so you can contact with Pimax for this. This concerns pre-orders that were ordered before May 23, 2023. New orders are not eligible for this.

4. Additional Focus on customer support

Because there are quite a few questions about the installation process of Pimax and other parts of the Pimax Crystal, Pimax has set up its own 'VIP customer support' service. They prioritize customers who ordered the Pimax Crystal to best assist them with questions. You can therefore contact with [email protected] if you have any questions about the Pimax Crystal. Pimax strives to answer your question within 48 hours.
