ARVI Labs: VR Escape Room Games for VR Arcades & Arcades

Are you planning to start with a Virtual Reality Arcade? Or maybe you already have a VR Arcade but run into some software management issues? ARVI VR has come up with something for this: they have developed their own software platform that is specifically aimed at the easy distribution of VR Arcade games. We explain how this works exactly in this blog.

ARVI VR is a VR Arcade software management system that has been developed to easily provide VR Arcade games in a commercial environment. When you run a VR Arcade you soon run into the problem that several players want to play a different game at the same time. You then want to prevent the VR Arcade operator having to start or close a game individually for each player. with an VR Arcade software system it is possible to start or close the various headsets and games from a central location (for example via a laptop or tablet) . This allows the VR operator to help multiple people at the same time in a much more efficient way.

ARVI VR Games

Initially ARVI VR focused on developing and distributing VR Escape Room games. These are games that are aimed at letting the player escape from somewhere. Where in the real world you are bound to physical spaces (for example, you try to escape from a physical room) in Virtual Reality there is no space limit. For example, a Virtual Reality escape room can also take place on an island or in space.

Meanwhile ARVI VR has also developed a lot of other games, such as action/shooting games. They all have one thing in common: all games are developed for Virtual Reality Arcade halls. They cannot therefore be played at home, but you really have to come to the VR Arcade to experience the games.

The advantage of using a software management system like ARVI VR, is that you pay directly for the commercial use (license) of the games. In a VR Arcade it is important that you have this license, otherwise the games may not be officially (commercially) offered. Want to know more about the use of VR game licenses? Read our blog: Using games in a VR Arcade? Note the license! then go through.

Which VR Hardware?

In a VR Arcade it is important that you have high-end equipment. After all, the customers come to your location because you offer the latest Virtual Reality experiences. For a VR Escape Room it is important that the player can move freely, that the tracking is always good (even when you are crouching on the floor, for example) and that the resolution is sharp so that you can clearly see what is happening on the screen. For this reason we recommend for a VR Escape Room the HTC VIVE Pro 2 Full Kit On. This is a complete set of with VR glasses, Controllers and sensors for the tracking. If you want to let the player move around even more freely, you can consider making the Headset wireless. Add the HTC VIVE Wireless Pack to the glasses and replace the cables with this wireless receiver.

In addition to the Virtual reality headset, you will of course need a powerful PC and monitor screen. For the PC, we recommend at least an RTX 3070 video card and Intel Core i7 processor (for example, our VR Arcade Certified Desktop PC). This ensures a powerful performance for the best VR experience. The view screen is intended for the spectators, so that they with can watch the players. The most common size for this is 50 inches, but this can of course differ based on the leeway you have available. (Tip: Some VR Arcades also use a beamer instead of a TV screen).
