Best Audio for Pimax Headsets
I've tested the Pimax Crystal in our demonstration room, both with the standard speakers and the optional DMAS speakers. The difference was noticeable straight away.
The standard speakers hang relatively far from your ears, which makes the sound feel somewhat muffled and distant. You hear sounds, but you barely get a sense of where they're coming from. Direction and depth are largely missing, making the experience rather flat.
With the DMAS, that changes completely. The speakers are closer to your ears and deliver a much richer, more direct and precise sound. In games, you can hear much better where something is happening - whether it's footsteps behind you or a voice from the front left. This provides a much stronger sense of presence and immersion.
What also struck me: the bass is powerful. Explosions, deep sound effects and background music have much more impact. Without it becoming excessive, you really get that 'feel' of VR sound - something you often miss in standard VR.
The installation of the DMAS was fairly straightforward and everything fits nicely on the headset. Comfort remains good; there's no pressure on the ears and it stays comfortable even during longer sessions.
For those who use the Pimax Crystal seriously, and want to get the most out of their VR experience, this is a must-have accessory in my opinion. Your image may be super sharp - but without good sound, you're still missing half the experience. DMAS makes that difference.
