  • Individual mode: Personal settings, preferences and progress are saved for a fixed user. Perfect for daily use.

Insight and oversight with Meta HMS


Meta Horizon {{Managed Services}} gives administrators real-time insight into the usage of all linked headsets. In the central dashboard, you can see when and how often a headset has been used, which apps have been opened and how long they have been active. This data helps organisations optimise training and measure engagement.


To ensure focus and safety, you can also enable a kiosk mode via HMS. This restricts the headset to a specific application or a fixed working environment. Users cannot independently navigate to other apps or settings. This is ideal for controlled environments such as trade fairs, onboarding processes or classrooms.


In addition, HMS offers the ability to follow sessions live via casting. This way you can remotely view what a user sees in VR. This can be used during training, demonstrations or for technical support. Casting works wirelessly, without you needing to be physically at the headset, and is immediately available within the HMS platform.

Meta HMS – Quick and Secure Start with VR Management

With Meta Horizon {{Managed Services}} (HMS) you manage your VR headsets in a safe, scalable and centralised manner. In the following steps, you can see how the process works:

Register headsets with HMS


Start by registering the received headset(s) in Horizon {{Managed Services}}. This can be done via the Meta Admin Centre using a unique device code that appears when the headset is started. Do you want to register multiple headsets at the same time? Then use the Managed Device Setup app on your PC or laptop, and connect the devices via a USB-C cable (included with each headset).

Create configuration profile


Now that the headsets are registered, you can create a configuration. This is a profile that will be applied to a group of Quest headsets later. First choose between 'Individual mode' and 'Shared mode'. Then follow the steps and select the settings that fit your usage situation.

Apply profile to a group


Once you have created the configuration profile, you can link it to a group. Haven't set up a group yet? Then create one and assign the correct profile to it. Then add the desired headsets to this group. As soon as the headsets connect to the internet, the configuration is automatically applied.
