The Leap Motion Controller is an optical hand-tracking module that captures the movement of users' hands and fingers, allowing them to interact with digital content in a natural way. It's small, fast, and precise, and can be used for productivity applications with Windows computers, integrated into enterprise-level hardware solutions or displays, or paired with virtual/augmented reality headsets for AR/VR/XR prototyping, research, and development. The controller can track hands within an interactive 3D zone extending to 60 cm or more, and extending from the device in a field of view of 120 x 150°.

Leap Motion's software can distinguish and track 27 different hand elements, including bones and joints, even when they are obscured by other parts of the hand.
