.
The ECO65 series is a cost-effective 6-axis robotic arm for business applications where compact integration, 5 kg payload, and accurate repetitive movements are important. The correct configuration depends on the desired task, the end-effector, the power supply, the mounting, any force measurement, and the integration with existing systems.
Cost-effective 6-axis robotic arm for compact automation
The ECO65 robotic arm is a professional 6-axis collaborative robotic arm for organisations seeking precise automation with a strong focus focus on cost control and practical applicability. The series is suitable for technical, educational, research, and light industrial applications in which a compact size, a payload of up to 5 kg, and reliable repeatability are important.
With a working range of approximately 610 to 627 mm, depending on the version, and a repeat accuracy of ±0.05 mm, the ECO65 is suitable for pick-and-place, simple assembly, inspection, test setups, product demonstrations, and light automation. The mechanical brakes on all joints make the ECO65 interesting for applications where stable positioning and safe standstill are important. Bear in mind that the weight of a gripper, robot hand, suction cup, cabling, and the object itself counts towards the total load of the robotic arm.
Two versions: standard or with Force/Torque Sensor
The ECO65 series is offered on Unbound XR as a standard version and as a 6F version with integrated 6-axis Force/Torque Sensor. This allows the ECO65 to be used for simple repetitive movements, but also for applications where force measurement, contact detection or controlled pressing are important.
| Model | Variant | Force/Torque Sensor | Motion Camera |
|---|---|---|---|
| ECO65-B | Standard | No | No |
| ECO65-6F | Force/Torque | Yes, integrated | No |
- ECO65-B: standard version for fixed, predictable and repeating movements such as light pick-and-place, simple assembly, test setups and demonstrations
- ECO65-6F: version with integrated 6-axis Force/Torque Sensor for contact-sensitive applications, force measurement and controlled pressing or positioning
Please note: the Force/Torque Sensor is in the robot arm itself for the ECO65-6F. A gripper, robot hand, suction cup or other end-effector is chosen separately and may or may not contain its own sensors or gripping force measurement depending on the type.
Suitable for which applications?
| Application | Recommended version | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed pick-and-place tasks | ECO65-B | Suitable when objects are always in the same position and the movements are predictable. |
| Education, demonstrations and test setups | ECO65-B | Good choice when cost control, simple usability and reliable repeatability are important. |
| Contact-sensitive assembly | ECO65-6F | For applications where force, pressure or resistance needs to be measured during contact with an object. |
| Controlled pressing or positioning | ECO65-6F | For processes where the robot arm needs to monitor contact forces as well as move to a position. |
Operation, software and integration
The ECO65 supports various communication and integration options, including Ethernet, WiFi, USB and serial interfaces. The web-based teach pendant software from RealMan can be used for commissioning, operation and configuration. Users can operate the robotic arm, move the robotic arm manually, learn positions, create and execute robot programs, and read out system information via this browser environment.
APIs and SDKs are available for further integration. This allows the ECO65 to be linked to existing software, operating systems, test setups and automation environments. Bear in mind that implementation, programming and process design require technical knowledge.
What additional things may you need?
The ECO65 is a professional robotic arm that often becomes part of a broader technical solution. Depending on the application, additional parts or engineering steps may be required to make the robotic arm safe and practical to use.
- Suitable external 24V power supply according to the manufacturer's specifications
- Gripper, robot hand, suction cup or other end-effector
- Mounting plate, work cell attachment or other mechanical attachment
- Cabling and any links with existing systems
- Safety provisions, depending on application and working environment
- Software integration, API link, SDK development or process design
Practical considerations
Bear in mind that a complete robotic setup is not included as standard. Before use, check whether the power supply, mounting, end-effector, cabling, software and safety provisions match the desired application. Also check in advance whether the task fits within the working range, the payload, the movement speed, the mounting position and the safety requirements of the environment in which the robotic arm is used.
For business applications, it is important not only to look at the robotic arm itself, but also at the complete solution around it. Consider the choice of the end-effector, the way objects are supplied, the desired accuracy, the available space, the software environment and the extent of human interaction with the robotic arm.
