The Pimax Crystal is a all-in-one headset that can be used wirelessly with a PC for up to 6 hours. It can also run standalone applications without a PC.
Due to its high pixel density, the Pimax Crystal offers exceptionally sharp resolution and image quality.
In the future, the Pimax Crystal will be available with add-ons, enabling features such as SteamVR tracking and colour passthrough.
The Pimax Crystal boasts an extremely high image resolution of 2880 x 2880 pixels per eye.
Two controllers are included as standard.
The Pimax Crystal is far from "Plug and Play". To have a good experience, a lot of manual configuration is required per game, making this headset only recommended for those with extensive VR experience.
The software for the Pimax Crystal is not yet complete, and features such as wireless PCVR streaming and standalone use are currently unavailable.
The headset is equipped with the older Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor.
The headset is larger and heavier than comparable VR headsets.
The Crystal does not use SteamVR tracking by default, meaning it cannot be used with SteamVR controllers and trackers out of the box.
The range of standalone applications on the Pimax Crystal is currently limited.

The Pimax Crystal is a fantastic virtual reality headset from Pimax. The unique feature of this VR headset is that you can use it both wirelessly and wired with a computer. Moreover, the Pimax Crystal has built-in eye tracking, so movements are followed very precisely. This ensures an optimal gaming and application experience.
The headset includes a powerful Snapdragon XR2 processor and built-in cameras, so the space around the headset can be determined and the controllers are brought into view very precisely. The aspherical lenses in the Pimax Crystal improve light transmittance and maximize pixel density, making the screen particularly sharp. In addition, the headset has QLED + Mini-LED screens with a resolution of 2880 x 2880 pixels per eye, which is currently one of the highest screen resolutions on the (consumer) market.
With a refresh rate of 90 to 120 Hz, games and applications are played very smoothly. The field of view (FOV) of the headset varies between 110 and 125 degrees, depending on the chosen PPD settings ('pixels per degree'). Thanks to the sturdy headband, the Pimax Crystal can be worn comfortably, even for extended periods.
