Use it in combination with the original HTC Vive.

Freedom is wireless and freedom is expensive.
The wireless adapter, in my opinion, is a very good product. It is a step towards a generation 2 VR-HMD. In dynamic games like Onward, the benefit is the greatest, but even in cockpit games, it is nice not to have to think about a wire anymore.
However, you do pay a premium for it with HTC. You also need to work inside your computer case, so computer building skills are required to do it yourself.
On my midrange computer, the adapter already runs perfectly. My relevant components for the adapter are:
MB: Asus P9X79 Deluxe (PCIe 3.0 is required!)
CPU: Intel i7 3990k
GPU: Geforce GTX 1070
