Vuzix Use Cases & Best Practices

The smart glasses from Vuzix are considered the gold standard when it comes to remote assist applications. Due to their small size and lightweight design, the glasses are well-suited for implementation during daily operations within a company or organisation.

Vuzix, in collaboration with the Dutch police (and the Universities of Leiden and Twente), conducted research to explore how the Vuzix Blade can be used in practical situations. Home care workers use the Vuzix M4000 to stream procedures during wound care for clients at home to one or more specialised colleagues. These colleagues can then observe remotely, assess the wound, and provide advice on care as needed. A significant advantage of the smart glasses over a tablet is that the worker's hands are free to perform tasks directly. The smart glasses are also used in the training of nursing students. They perform medical procedures while their instructor observes from another location.

The Vuzix M4000-smart glass was recently used to conduct a successful inspection of a worksite via a DJI Mavic 2 Pro-drone. The combined technology was utilised to access hard-to-reach areas and to provide end clients with a different perspective on the study area, including the inspection of cranes, elevated facilities, and various machines.

The Vuzix glasses are particularly suitable for use in work applications where remote assist is important. The advantage of the Vuzix-brillen is that standard software is usually already available. This allows companies with relatively little experience in AR/remote assist to easily utilise the applications.
