bHaptics introduces the new bHaptics X40 and X16 vest
The new bHaptics TactSuits, X40 and X16, have been announced by bHaptics and will be exclusively delivered within Europe by Unbound VR. Want to know more about these vests and what improvements they have over the original bHaptics vests? Then read our blog!
40 individual haptic motors
The TactSuit X40 contains, just like its predecessor, 40 individual haptic motors spread across the front and back of the vest. This allows you to feel precisely where you are hit. For example, if you are playing a shooting game and get shot from behind, you will feel the haptic motors vibrating at the back. But the vest even reacts to environmental sounds, so if a grenade goes off at your feet, you will feel the whole vest move! And thanks to the larger 9800 mAh battery, the vest lasts up to 18 hours of playtime.
16 built-in sensors
TactSuit X16 is the smaller variant of the TactSuit X40. With 16 built-in sensors, the haptic feedback is slightly less precise, but the vest lasts longer (± 22 hours of playtime). Both vests work with a Bluetooth 4.0 connection and are also compatible with various solutions.
The TactSuit X16 is also somewhat shorter compared to the X40. Because there are fewer sensors in the vest, the haptics can be placed closer together, and the vest can be used comfortably while sitting (for example, for gaming at your desktop). For this reason, the bHaptics TactSuit X40 seems more suitable for businesses and professional users, while the TactSuit X16 is more aimed at consumers.
20+ supported games
Currently, there are already more than 20+ games that bHaptics offers native support for, including popular titles such as Onward, Thrill of the Fight, and Sairento VR. Native support for Oculus Quest and Quest 2 is currently more limited, but bHaptics indicates they are working hard to make it standardly compatible.
Audio to Haptics
The bHaptics software offers users a solution when a game is not supported by bHaptics. For example, a game like Beat Saber does not offer native support, but the game can still be played with haptic feedback through the bHaptics software.
bHaptics TactSuit X40 and X16 are available from 16 December 2020. By placing an order with Unbound VR, you are assured of delivery from the very first moment!
